I mentioned in a post before that I had recently changed all my jewellery from sterling silver to gold. Inspired either by Pinterest, Emily Oberg or just due to the amount of time I spend looking at different outfits on Instagram, I have now fully transitioned to only wearing gold. I wore sterling silver jewellery before for two main reasons 1. because I’m allergic to most of the materials that other earrings are made from - if I wear certain earrings my ears get all swollen and scabby and gross 2. a lot of gold earrings are expensive and I can't afford thattttttttt.

I first swapped out my awkward forward helix piercing which I used to have a black barbell through when it was originally pierced many years ago. I ordered a super small gold barbell (£3.25 + postage) from TDi body jewellery and have had no problems with it at all. I’ve bought jewellery from them before, the service is really good, super inexpensive and they have a great range of different barbells.

I’ve also bought some small studs and sleeper earrings from Seol + Gold. I know I rave about Etsy but I honestly find some of the best jewellery shops on there. I ordered a tiny gold hoop pair (I got the 12mm pair - £12.95 + postage) and some tiny moon studs (I got the yellow plated pair - £7.95 + postage). They have a great range and it was so hard to decide on which ones to buy. They have a really quick service and most of their pieces are made from 9ct gold (I think) - if they aren't, they have no traces of nickel or lead, a big plus for me. The only criticism I would make is how fiddly the hoop earrings are to get in which can sometimes make my ears get a little swollen.

My mum has also very kindly given me her St Christopher gold necklace that she got from her grandmother on her 18th birthday. Known as the Patron Saint of Travel, my mum told me it meant I was being looked after wherever I go. Unaware that my mum had this necklace until recently, and due to the sentimental value it holds for me this is now one of my most cherished items in my possession. I feel safe when I wear it and like I have a piece of my family with me at all times.

Hope you guys have had a good week! Can't believe it's already February!
