This want of the week is slight a change from my usual fashion pieces. Having bought templates for my blog the last few times I've updated the theme, I'm now hoping to create my own website for all my university work by learning how to code.
Amazon has a wealth of books about HTML and CSS but I’ve found a few dotted in other places too. For example, WHSmith (a shop here in the UK that sells stationery and books) has a magazine with a step by step guide to coding and includes helpful diagrams. If I remember it was £11? Which I thought was pretty good. I also found this Instagram @hisuperhi selling a digital and print version of their coding book. Very nice graphics (photo above).
I’ve been reading a book that I got for Christmas on my morning commute which helps me fill the time I usually spend listening to the same song over and over for 45 minutes. If I could now learn a new skill in that time instead I’d be very grateful!

I finally have the last of my projects submitted from my first semester as an MA student! I’m so relieved and glad that hand in went okay and that I was able to get everything finished on time! :-)
Anyway, I made another cake this week as I'm trying to imporove my baking. This time it was a red velvet one which was a complete disaster, I think I’m doing something wrong and should stick to desserts that don’t require any cooking. I met up with my older brother for lunch on Friday after my deadline. We walked around for ages just chatting and catching up but it was freezing in London! We went to Tate Modern as he’d never been to the viewing level - one of my favourite spots in the city, it’s free and has the best view, on a clear day you can see for miles.
I’ve also been using that Best Coffee app I mentioned in my other post last week and it has led me to some great places. So far I’ve visited Curators Coffee Gallery near Oxford Circus, Flat White in Soho and Taylor St Gallery near Monument. Out of the three, Flat White was probably my favourite. I used the app when I was in Oxford too and went to Society Café - also lovely. I had a peppermint tea and they gave me a little egg timer to tell me when it would be perfectly brewed.
Yesterday I went into town with my Mum for breakfast to celebrate her birthday. We went to The Breakfast Club (mushrooms on bloomer for £6 and add a poached egg for an extra £1 yessss!) which I’m so glad has opened in Oxford. We then went to see The Post afterwards and omg guys. Wow. What a great movie, Meryl Streep is sooo so good in it. You have to go and see it!

Here's a roundup of my favourite street style looks from Paris Fashion Week Men's A\W18. All I know now is that I need some tartan, Le Specs sunglasses, white boots and a statement scarf.

I feel like I’m continually walking past Sandro Paris stores at the moment. Maybe it’s the route I’m taking to get to university but it’s like these trainers are following me. There was even a photo of a pair in the Evening Standard magazine last week - maybe it’s a sign.
Anyway, I thought I’d talk about my week as that’s easier than trying to break it into smaller posts right now.
I finally got around to listening to The Group Chat's first podcast on Soundcloud last Monday. This was something that Emily Oberg had been sharing on her Twitter and Instagram; I thought I wouldn't be able to listen to as it was originally only available on Tidal but I was so glad to see the first episode uploaded to Soundcloud. Oberg is doing the podcast with her two friends Speedy Morman and Brandon “Jinx” Jenkins (he's also in Push Magazine’s recent issue if you haven't seen it - worth picking up) and the Soundcloud bio describes it as "the real life version of their text group chat". I’m all for podcasts at the moment and I just had it on in the background whilst I did some work.
I went to Borough Market on Thursday after walking from Bank? No, I walked from Liverpool Street station which was really nice. I was absolutely starving and a bit worried I was going to get caught in the rain. However, I was able to pick up a bratwurst with sauerkraut and ketchup for £5.50 when I eventually arrived and it was delicious. I also bought a red velvet cupcake which was gluten free and wheat free for £3. It has to be one of the best cakes I've had recently!
Other exciting information:
1. Liberty’s sells cacti - where doesn’t sell cacti? the temptation to buy more is real
2. I’ve changed all my jewellery from silver to gold but I’m going to do a post about that next!
3. I visited the London Graphics Centre in Covent Garden for the first time. As someone who has been an art student for so long, I’m actually disappointed with myself that I’ve only just discovered this place
4. I downloaded an app called Best Coffee (it’s free) which works by using location services to tell you about coffee shops that are close by. It gives you a review of the cafe and lets you know if there is any wifi and if pets are allowed etc. The best bit is that it shows you if they have decaf or not - a big plus as I only drink decaf coffee (see photo below)

I have a major university deadline coming up and I’ve been firing on all cylinders this past week to get it ready in time. I feel like I’ve been working on it for months (because I have) and I’m so excited for it to come together! Honestly, I am so unbelievably happy and proud of what I've made.
Anyway, in amongst all my work and an essay deadline, I saw that Weekday was releasing an 11 piece collection with Champion this week. I've saved the date to my phone so I would remember because knowing me I'll forget! Coming out on 25th, the collection features tearaway track pants (a definite yes from me), a sports bra and a pullover fleece. I mainly have my eye on the grey pullover fleece but I’m pretty excited for the whole drop.
Also coming out this week is the Carhartt WIP X PACCBET collaboration dropping on the 24th. I've bought a couple of pieces from Carhartt recently and the quality is amazing on all of them. They're fast becoming one of my go to brands.

Barbican
I got some film developed for my university project
Piccadilly Circus
Sans Pere (I had earl grey tea and a truffle and brie toasted sandwich, yum!!!!)
Quick hello!
Term began this week and I am once again back in London. In amongst all the things I had to do, I found time to make a lemon cheesecake, (which turned out surprisingly well) visited one my favourite cafes: Sans Pere in Shoreditch (followed by a wander round Goodhood) and went to Milkbar for the first time with a fellow classmate. All in all it has been a lovely week.
Oh! and I also went to Barbican after class on Tuesday to take some photos for a project. I intended to use my polaroid camera, which to my dismay refused to print any images. I found myself stood in the rain peeling open my camera to try and fix the problem - something I do not recommend. I gave up after that and walked to Shoreditch.

Essentials Bag // Carhartt WIP // £35
I picked this up in London just before Christmas at Carhartt's Brewer Street store. From what I can remember this particular shop only stocks menswear, but there is a larger store in Covent Garden (a 10 minute walk from Brewer Street) that has womenswear too. Last term I got into the habit of carrying everything with me in a tote bag. Now, don’t get me wrong I love a good tote bag, but I figured it was time for something a bit more compact and robust.
Though only a small bag, this one from Carhartt is worth the price. It features two main compartments, a concealed zip pocket on the front and a phone pouch. The main front section also has a small zipped pocket on the inside. So. Many. Pockets. Having two separate compartments is the best part about this bag and is a lifesaver for me. I can now keep my car keys and phone separate so I don’t have to worry about my phone getting scratched. I’ve been using the back pocket to carry all the essentials for tackling a cold: tissues, decongestant tablets, sore throat lozenges, all that good stuff. Then in the front pocket I just keep my phone and wallet. I have yet to use the pouch and smaller zipped pocket on the front of the bag, but this is now my go to accessory. The strap is easily adjustable, really comfortable and because the clips rotate fully you don’t have to worry about the bag getting twisted.
This bag is really high quality and perfect for carrying everything you need for a day out. It holds all my essentials (plus my huge phone!) and I’m so glad I bought it. It comes in two other colour ways (Camo Combat Green and Hamilton Brown) and easily finishes off any outfit.

Trainers with Flames on the Sole // Sandro Paris // £209 (images are all from their website)
I originally saw these trainers after getting in from work on New Years Eve. I was so tired I couldn't remember the brand name and consequently had to spend some time on the 1st of January scrolling through Instagram's impossible new algorithm to find them again. I believe it was @honeybelleworldblog that was sporting these to bring in the New Year with an all black outfit and beret. I immediately liked them and I was so glad to find the brand easily again. They also come in a mustard and purple colour way (now on sale) which I'm not as much a fan of, but I still really like the style and silhouette of the trainer.
@eiderpaskual also wearing the trainers with flames on the sole
