After receiving a few emails at the beginning of summer about how red was the 'hottest hue' of the season, I ordered a sweatshirt from Fruit of the Loom to jump onboard the trend. I actually also got the idea from Em after meeting her for lunch in Oxford. She was wearing a far more faded red sweatshirt with a really nice oversized fit. She sent me the link for hers and the one I ordered was a size L that I cropped at the bottom. The elastic came in a bit too tight and bunched the jumper up so I just chopped that bit off. After this purchase I am super keen for more red in my wardrobe and I'm actually looking at puffer jackets! I wear my North Face Nuptse religiously so it'd be nice to have a secondary coat to mix things up a bit.

Its taken me ages to be able to style colour confidently after years of only having a monochrome wardrobe. What works best for me is, if I opt for one colour only and let that be the boldest thing I wear. So my bag / shoes / jeans whatever are all muted to let the colour stand out. I've been wearing my red sweater with black jeans or leggings, Vans, and a bum bag. In terms of styling a red coat, I'd opt for a black hoodie underneath, with black jeans and possibly a pair of black Nike TNs or 97s.
