LFW: My Experience

Sunday, 24 September 2017

I really should've got a photo of what I was wearing this day, but it was basically the same as I always wear! I was super in awe when I got inside at 180 The Strand so I barely took any photos (sorry) - however I wanted to share with you guys the little publication that was on all the stands and the tote bag I got too! A few of the others on my course went to the last of the catwalk shows which I unfortunately missed - ok sorry this was my first fashion week! I'll do better next year I promise.

As Tuesday was the last day, I can confirm that there wasn't actually a huge amount to see. There were a handful of photographers and a few people floating around outside but not the hubbub of models and IT girls that I expected. Despite this, there was a really great and exciting energy outside!

Our passes were for guests of BFC which got us access to the exhibition upstairs. This space was full of Ready-To-Wear items displayed on various rails and stands (which I think is the same area you can see if any of you went to the London Fashion Week Festival over this weekend). There was a tonne of stuff going on, rooms with jewellery in and hats, shoes, little coffee shops and coolers with free Evian water. We stayed for maybe a couple of hours or so looking at the clothes before heading off for lunch.

The space was really clean and minimal to allow the clothes to speak for themselves. The windows were covered in a kind of transparent but pearlescent sticker which matched the theme of the text on the handbooks. I don't want to bombard you with information but it was a really great experience, and if you can I recommend going to the London Week Fashion Festival to just get a taste of all that's going on.

Song of the day: Don't Wish Me Well - Solange
