I'm in bed with a hot chocolate catching up with The Unknown Vlogs. If I have a spare 15 minutes I always stick his videos on just to keep up to date with the latest streetwear drops. I have however just used up the last of my milk to make this hot chocolate and don't have any for cereal which is good. Error. My bread is stale too.
I want to say i've bought something exciting this week but I haven't. Well, i've bought some cool stuff for uni - these cute pink crates from Wilko which i'm going to use to put all my work in my degree show space, a stand for my magazine that i'm slowly coming to the end of and other bits and bops that I actually forgot I ordered in the first place. I did however get some leggings from Topshop when they were doing the discount for students. After my American Apparel leggings went into a hole and then American Apparel collapsed i've been struggling to replace them, so fingers crossed these are thick enough. ANYWAY - i'm rambling. I went to Footlocker yesterday in search of some all white AF1s but saw the Air Max 2017s in white and fell in love. They're a £140 so i'm not rushing to buy them but you know when you put a pair of shoes on and they're just right?! This was them. I also went to Harvey Nichs and tried on this oversized-tie-dye-blue jumper from Acne. It's really similar to one I recently bought from Toshop, but I bought it like 3 sizes too big so it would look oversized - obviously Acne just have the look nailed. After some recent changes in my life i'm really trying to branch out into more colourful clothing guys!
Hope everyone is doing well!

I'm annoyed because both Urban Outfitters and Topshop are doing 20% off for students at the moment which is making me feel like I should buy something. Whenever I walk into either of their stores in Edinburgh and don't want to buy anything - I find something I want to buy. When I walk in into Topshop or Urban Outfitters with the intent to buy something, it never happens. I'm not going to be a student for much longer so I obviously would like to take advantage of this situation. However, neither of the shops had anything. Zilch. Zero. Zip.

Anyway, when I was in London the other day we (Emily and I) popped into Patta in Soho. I've been in their store before (they have one in Amsterdam too) and have wanted to buy something from them for ages. They had a grey basic crew neck with the small Patta logo on the chest that was really nice. Why I didn't buy it I do not knowwwww.
I'm up to my eyeballs in work - literally counting down the days. There aren't very many left!

Ok so I feel bad for not doing a Sunday Summary last week. Alas this week was not particularly eventful so these photos are all from the time I spent in London. I managed to squeeze in 24 hours in the city which was fun and I was seriously in need of a pep talk from Emily and my older brother, Tom. I'm back in Edinburgh today (i'm trying to write this in advance as i'll be on the train tomorrow and the wifi is always shit - it's currently 10 past 1 - in the morning) to finish off the semester. I have moments of feeling totally ok and in control. Then I have moments of sheer panic and I feel like i'm never going to finish anything.
If I can offer any advice for those of you studying at the moment or working towards something, it's that the best thing to do is find a live version of your favourite song (mine is currently Silk by Wolf Alice) and imagine yourself walking in slow mo to pick up your exam results or your degree or whatever whilst this song is playing. You have that feeling in your stomach when you know you're going to be okay, or you've made it and it was all you. All your work comes down to this one small moment and you have to really grab it. Plus the music makes you feel like you're at the end of some great movie where everything works out, the girl gets the guy and they drive off into the sunset in a Cadillac.

Apologies for the absence of my sunday summary last week. I have soo much on my plate at the moment I completely spaced. I've been waitressing and cramming uni work in around that making me literally run around the place. I've just got back from the gym and thought i'd write about my trip to London last Thursday with my mum. I also have a cup of lemon and honey tea which I recommend for hay fever / generally feeling shit.
First stop: Design Museum to see the Imagine Moscow exhibition. You can't take pictures inside but so worth a visit. Very educational and eyeopening as well as being amazingly curated and thought out. There is also a permanent display on about the history of design which was really good.
Lunch: Brown & Rosie on Exhibition Road in Kensington. My Mum and I stumbled across this little restaurant and it was so cute. We had these amazing poached eggs on sourdough toast and they were soooo yummy. Highly recommend and super inexpensive.
Last stop: Tate Modern to show my mum the viewing deck / best view of London (in my opinion)
We also met my older brother for dinner at Bill's which was really nice! I'm off into London again tomorrow to see Emily which will be funnnnn. I'll try and vlog that if I can because I enjoyed the one I made a million years ago when I stayed with Emily before Christmas.

Ok so, Satisfy Running are a European brand specialising in 'premium technical apparel for running'. Always on the look out for workout gear that isn't heavily labelled, Satisfy Running have a super unique take on activewear. Phrases such as 'leave them all behind', 'running cult member' and 'run away' written upside down add humour and style to activewear which I find is often lost. Many brands produce brightly coloured leggings and neon tops, whereas Satisfy Running are doing something more minimal and beautiful. It feels like urban-active-wear that you can work out in and also just wear casually without trying too hard. It's currently only modelled by men from what I can see but, I mean, it doesn't feel like the stuff they sell can't be worn by women too. Wear what you want. Their packaging also looks incredible! I love brands who really think about their packaging, it's such a key part.

I always seem to have more time to think about blogging when I'm home. Last night I did my first evening shift at work since being back and it's really nice to do something completely separate to all my projects. Anyway - I was up till nearly midnight sketching away. In another slightly unfortunate turn of events, Mad Men has been added to Netflix, further denting my schedule of work. I've watched it before untilllll maybe Season 4 and then gave up? I have a tendency to do that with shows that have a lot of seasons, but honestly, it's a great show.
Ok, so, like a week ago this came out? I know, i've been busy but I've kept my eye on things happening at Kith. I've been a follower of Oberg since her Supreme interviews when she worked for Complex as an anchor. Her sense of style and her attitude really stuck with me and I became an instant fan. Now she's bringing her look to Kith Women and i'm fully onboard. Recently i've become all about comfort in my own wardrobe; swapping my beloved (now broken) leggings in for jogging bottoms. It's nice to feel on trend when I recognise aspects of what i'm trying to do within my own style, in such a well known brand. However, the large scale labelling of Kith across the chest of the sweaters is the only element that puts me off. I know some people love to feel like they're wearing a brand, but for me it always feels like too much. I want to wear things that are lowkey. I know they are expensive or well made, but I don't have to scream it from the roof tops. I can take branding on a few items - statement jackets, bags, trainers etc. However, across the chest on a sweater feels like a walking advert. But hey, that's me.

I've been working hard on my magazine this past week and managed to get down to the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh to take some pictures with Amy. She is a second year from from uni and it was nice to have some time out the studio at this busy period. The Botanic Gardens are genuinely one of my favourite places in Edinburgh and I know I go on about it, but if you're ever in the city please go and see them! It's like £5.50 (concession) to go around the glasshouses but they're so beautiful. Shout out to Amy for helping me!

Currently catching up with Unknown Vlogs on Youtube which is fast becoming one of my favourite channels. Honestly guys watch his videos, he just has such a great personality and a nice filming style, plus will keep you up to date on all the drops in London because he's literally at everything. I've also just done some sample paint tests in my room for my degree show. I bought an A4 piece of wood from the art shop which I've painted with some some emulsion I got. I'm sooo happy with the colour, it's like a super light grey - I was worried it'd be too light. It's good though, i'm happy.

ANYWAY so want of the week is these Nike Air Force 1 '07 LV8 trainers. In fairness they are super similar to the AF1s I already own in a the metallic gold grain colour way (link) buttttt yeah. I usually only rock black trainers as I think they're easier to maintain and keep looking fresh. However as the weather is more forgiving at the moment you can get away with a lighter colour way. I also recommend spraying your shoes for that extra layer of protection.

As previously mentioned, I did a photoshoot for my degree show at the weekend with a girl off my course. Ipsa is a first year student at uni and we share a similar interest in clothing sooooooo I asked if i could work with her. I'm making a publication about female representation in streetwear and I'm buzzing about how the pictures have turned out. All seems to be going okay, it's just a case of getting it together now and keeping calm about everything!

What. A. Week. Again, apologies for the late night posting. It's not even Sunday but here I am. I feel like I have barely had a weekend as I've been in uni everyday. I actually took some fab shots for my magazine i'm working on for degree show. They came out really well so i'll get around to posting them soon. Other than that it's almost Easter break and i'll be making the pilgrimage back down South. A lot of people are staying but i'm really in need of a change of scenery!
