It came up on Topshop’s Twitter earlier that this was THE jacket that ‘we’ll be wearing with everything’ for Spring. Now okay, weird opinion but I’ve actually found Topshop so hard to shop in lately. I don't know if I feel like i’ve outgrown their sort of teenage fashion style or that maybe a lot of their clothes don't appeal to me anymore. I grew up with Topshop. I’d shelter from the rain in Topshop, i’d spend my free lessons in Topshop, I’d arrange to meet my friends at Topshop, I even did that personal shopper experience at Topshop for my 18th (was actually so good, I highly recommend). I just wanna say Topshop, i'm here and I will continue to shop with you forever, given I can find the right pieces.
Anyway, I actually had an oversized denim jacket when I was studying my A-Levels and I loved it. I think it was from Topman, so a guys one and it had that proper boxy fit. It was light wash denim and I used to wear it with white t shirts and high waisted jeans. Now those days are behind me, and i’m pretty sure it went along to the charity shop with all the other clothes I wore when I was 17. So, a black denim jacket is something I could now get back on board with. The distressed look and studs make it more visual and add texture, something i’m personally lacking in my wardrobe. I’d definitely style it as they have, but with tight jeans, sk8-his and a warm hat. I can remember denim jackets having deep pockets and were super thin so i’d layer up with this piece. A thick jumper and a long sleeve underneath would make the perfect January outfit. Also, if it was getting warmer (not likely for me in Edinburgh) but this jacket could easily be layered over a slip dress and a grey long sleeve.

You can't get there by bus, only by hard work and risk and by not quite knowing what you're doing, but what you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover will be yourself” - Alan Alda
