Fabric Reopening Weekend

Monday, 9 January 2017

I think I just got Carmex in my eye. I was rubbing the sleepy dust out the corner of my eye after applying some lip balm and now i’m 99% sure I have it in my eye as it’s burning, a lot.

Okay anyway, after a few days in London and after a rushed Sunday Summary of my week, I thought I’d put together a longer post. I know i’ve written tonnes of posts about London, but I do always do something different when I’m there. So this weekend was the reopening of Fabric in Farringdon. I bought tickets for my boyfriend and I to go on the Friday night which is when they play Drum and Bass. I haven't seen my boyfriend all Christmas so it was so nice to be back together! He took me to Fabric before over the summer (see the post here about that). I’m probably the least likely person to be found in Fabric, and we didn’t even drink but I had an amazing time. Prior to all of this, I had spent the afternoon in London with Emily at the Starbucks in Covent Garden, eating a triple cheese toastie and drinking a white chocolate mocha. Does it even really taste of white chocolate tho? When my boyfriend got to London we all went for dinner at Patty and Bun on Redchurch Street which was super cool. I had the Portobello Mushroom burger for £8. 100% recommend.

The following day we didn’t leave the flat until maybe 3? I know, so bad and I was absolutely starving. As we were staying with Emily, we were within a half an hour walk of Borough Market so we wandered down there in search of some food. I honestly bought an amazing hot dog but didn’t take any photos of it as I was too busy eating. My boyfriend had a pulled pork sandwich and then some kind of custard bun afterwards, which I actually ended up eating a lot of haha. Tate Modern is open till 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, so we went to see the new Rauschenberg exhibition (half price deal for students oooh). We couldn't take any photos in there but there was an extensive collection of his work. My boyfriend studies Art History so it’s always useful to have him at galleries because he knows a lot more than I do! He went home after this and I stayed at Emily’s for another night. Again we ended up staying in bed till midday. Term hasn’t started for any of us yet so motivation is seriously lacking across all camps. I managed to get Emily to take some outfit photos for me, I’ve finally done it! I’m just waiting for them to come through on WeTransfer. So that is what the photos from the the National Theatre are for, i’m also considering doing about Brutalist Architecture for my degree show but i’m undecided.

Had such a cute time in London and now I only have a week before i'm back in Edinburgh for my final semester ahhhhh!
