Nike Air Zoom Spiridon Ultra // Hanon // £95
Metallic Silver / Desert Red
If you know me, i’ve had my eyes on these shoes for a while. I fall in and out of love with trainers a lot, and can never commit to a specific style. One minute I want TN’s, one minute I don’t. However, my Instagram feed has been flooded with photos of people rocking Spiridon’s, and admittedly i’m a little jealous. I’ve also been wearing my 95s everyday all semester so they’re looking worn. I don't want them to break so I’m considering wearing something different.
I’ll probably invest as I haven’t bought new shoes in AGES.

I really should get into the habit of taking photographs each day so I don't end up with a random assortment of images like this! This week has really been very uneventful. I always find blogging harder when term is on because I get back into working, and then very little happens in my life. I’ve been doing dissertation stuff this week and just tonnes of work for my current project, as well as going to the gym and working on other smaller briefs I have. I actually really embarrassed myself at the gym the other day. I tend to embarrass myself at the gym on a regular basis actually so that’s not really news haha. I went out for cocktails on Friday night as it was the birthday of a girl on my course. It was a really nice evening and I had a rum, ginger ale and mint cocktail which was only like, £4. So good.
That’s it really! It’s all going really well, just got to keep going and putting in the work for these last few months! It was my Mum's birthday yesterday and I always get a bit sad when I miss birthdays at home, so Mum if you're heading this, happy birthday!

I’ve edited these images so many times because I think there is something wrong with them but the colours are just really bright and i’m not used to that! However, as mentioned, i’ve started a new project and it’s a poster brief. I’ll try and explain what i’m doing / what the brief is. We basically have to make 2 posters, one about who we are now and one about who we’ll be in sixth months. I’m in the early stages of developing my ideas so they’re pretty all over the place, but i’ve decided that I want to get my outcome printed using Risograph. It’s actually something i’ve never done before but I have a few little risograph prints stuck on my bedroom wall. I’ve always wanted to try it! I found a place called Risotto Studio based in Glasgow who print using this method and I ordered one of their sample packs. I’m really excited to use this method as I think I want to use Risograph for my degree show, just got to try it now!
I also picked up a soft cover square moleskin yesterday to keep my degree show ideas all in one place. I have so many tabs saved on my laptop that I don't want to lose them, my laptop has been crashing a lot later… I also found a few ‘Bullet Journal’ videos on Youtube and some of them are so beautiful, i’m going to try and keep mine tidy like that. Unlikely as I always tend to eat as I work and get crumbs and food everywhere.

Made and embroidered in the UK!
This is actually one thing I had my eye on for my birthday. I’m turning 22 in just under two months so i’ve been on the lookout for a couple of bits already. Mainly make up things but this is one of the clothing items i’m looking at. I own a black long sleeve already but it’s really big and oversized with quite a wide neck. I also have a cropped one too so I should probably invest in a regular sized one as a wardrobe staple haha. I followed poppyscarlet_ on Instagram after seeing Natalie Winter rocking a few of their previous pieces. She wears Animal Nature too which is another brand i’m really into at the moment.
It literally also feels like the end of the week even though it’s Tuesday. I’ve been working a lot at home lately and it's nice to get back into the swing of things. I’ve also been training legs so hard at the gym now i’m feeling better. I hate taking time out because I don't want to lose progress. I’ve really being varying the way I workout and i’ve definitely felt the difference!
I’m gonna have some dinner now and get back to work! No rest for us final year students!

As i’ve mentioned 14,000 times before, I started training at the gym about 6/7 months ago. I never really understood why people wore activewear if they weren't going to the gym, but my workout clothes are sooo comfy I wear them all the time now! I also haha, I don't know why i’m laughing about this but when I’m at the gym I like to be just as co-ordinated or just as fashion conscious as I am regularly. Which seems a bit silly as you're just working out but it makes me feel a lot more confident. I have the Adidas ZX Flux trainers in black with a white gum sole, and I always end up matching my leggings, top and sports bra to my shoes.
FKA Twigs is the creative director for NikeWomen and is collaborating with Zonal Tights on this project for Spring 2017. She said the collection is “an opportunity to show young people that they have the power to become the best version of themselves”*. I really love this as I feel like exercising and using the gym frequently has really boosted my self esteem. I love the khaki green sports bra, that may be one of my favourite pieces, along with the Nikelab Anorak. Many of the items come in other colours but I’m glad they kept the tones muted and simple. You know me, never really one for bright clothing!
Out of the pieces I picked out, I’d make an outfit from the khaki green sports bra, the black high rise training tights, the hyper cool training top in white and the AF1’s as they have a flat sole making it easier to squat.

I feel like being ill this week has set me back so much. You know when you just feel really sluggish and useless, yeah well that’s how i’ve felt. Towards the end of the week I was able to get out to the gym which was a massive help. I felt so much better just training and getting active. I can’t begin to explain what a help the gym has been for me and how I feel over the past 6 months. It’s been a god send. Earlier in the day on my walk to the gym, this guy was playing Landslide by Fleetwood Mac in the Meadows (just this big park in Edinburgh near where I live) and it really struck a cord with me. Now I feel all emotional and it’s been playing in my head ever since. So yeah, other than that, nothing else to report on. I went to a flat party last night for my friend’s 22nd and it was so nice to see everyone and be back.
ALSO as i’ve been sick i’ve been watching a lot of Youtube videos, I find Netflix is falling out of favour with me at the moment as I can’t find anything I wanna watch. BUT among the million hours of make up tutorials I watch, I’ve gotten into gym videos etc and found Tess Begg’s Vegan channel. I’m not Vegan or Vegetarian or anything, but her videos are so comforting and I literally want to cook everything she makes. She also combines it with working out and leading a healthy lifestyle, which is something I need to do better myself!
Anyway, so much work to do as usual,

So, okay for Christmas I got the MAC Extended Play mascara (which is really good by the way if you were considering purchasing) and it came with a free sample of Zoom Fast Black Lash. Oh my god. Okay so I never want to write negatively about stuff because i’m not about that but literally, this mascara. I had it on my eyeball, on my eyebrow and then when I tried to wipe it away it went everywhere. If you can apply this mascara and avoid getting it everywhere please let me know, because I actually like, I literally, never again. I have steady hands so I don't even understand. I had to do my eyeliner extra thick to cover it up as it had just gone everywhere.
Never again
In other news, term has obviously kicked off and as i’ve mentioned in previous posts, this is my last semester at university, unless I do a masters, but my last semester in Edinburgh which is sad. I haven’t posted on here for a few days as I’ve been unwell. It’s cold season so at least every other person is sick. Not fun. Once I get more back into the routine of being here i’ll get the posts rolling. I’ve been thinking about making a January favourites video, but we’ll see. The people in the block of flats across the road can literally see straight into my room, so I may have to find a somewhere else to do it haha.
Legit, I still think I have this mascara in my eye.

A slightly different want of the week now that I’m back at university and my head is more geared for new projects. Before the Christmas break I had been looking at concrete and Brutalist projects on Behance for inspiration. I found this more of an advanced starting point than Pinterest and I got really into looking for exciting work. Whilst searching through, I found this book by Zupagrafika, a creative studio based in Poland. I think I may have mentioned in previous posts that I wanted to look at Post War architecture for my final major project, and this book is the perfect starting point. In all honesty, my knowledge of Brutalism is not great. I’ve questioned my flatmate who studies architecture about it, but i’m excited to get to grips with it on my own. I found this book on Amazon too and I think i’m going to order it! My want of the week is actually something I can buy!
In other news, I apologise for my rushed post on Sunday but I was so exhausted. I also felt horrific which has now developed into a full blown cold. I’ve taken the day off uni because I feel awful, super congested and light heated. It’s really strange. Anyway, hopefully from a day of rest I will feel better tomorrow as I hate being ill and missing out on things. It’s like taking a sick day when you're 7, and everything that could’ve ever happened in that academic year, happened on the day you were ill so you miss everything.

i’ll keep this short as I am exhausted from travelling today! It’s lovely to be back in Edinburgh and i’m so glad to be back in bed now too! I’ve got some mini eggs (thanks Mum!) and i’m about to start watching the new A Series of Unfortunate Events on Netflix. Basically i’m planning on falling asleep! I had a quiet week which was really nice, but i’m ready to face this semester now.
Goodnight guys!

It came up on Topshop’s Twitter earlier that this was THE jacket that ‘we’ll be wearing with everything’ for Spring. Now okay, weird opinion but I’ve actually found Topshop so hard to shop in lately. I don't know if I feel like i’ve outgrown their sort of teenage fashion style or that maybe a lot of their clothes don't appeal to me anymore. I grew up with Topshop. I’d shelter from the rain in Topshop, i’d spend my free lessons in Topshop, I’d arrange to meet my friends at Topshop, I even did that personal shopper experience at Topshop for my 18th (was actually so good, I highly recommend). I just wanna say Topshop, i'm here and I will continue to shop with you forever, given I can find the right pieces.
Anyway, I actually had an oversized denim jacket when I was studying my A-Levels and I loved it. I think it was from Topman, so a guys one and it had that proper boxy fit. It was light wash denim and I used to wear it with white t shirts and high waisted jeans. Now those days are behind me, and i’m pretty sure it went along to the charity shop with all the other clothes I wore when I was 17. So, a black denim jacket is something I could now get back on board with. The distressed look and studs make it more visual and add texture, something i’m personally lacking in my wardrobe. I’d definitely style it as they have, but with tight jeans, sk8-his and a warm hat. I can remember denim jackets having deep pockets and were super thin so i’d layer up with this piece. A thick jumper and a long sleeve underneath would make the perfect January outfit. Also, if it was getting warmer (not likely for me in Edinburgh) but this jacket could easily be layered over a slip dress and a grey long sleeve.

Ok so i’m trying to find the Mac Cosmetics Lip Scrubtious on the UK online store and I can't! I saw they posted about it on Instagram the other night and I was like oooh yes. I suffer from excessively dry lips for some reason. It’s either because a) they are just perpetually dry or b) I over moisturise, so my lips don't actually moisturise themselves anymore, hence why I need all the lip balm I can get. If anyone knows where I can get the Mac Lip Scrubtious in the UK please let me know!
Moving on. So as you guys know, I spent the weekend in London staying with Emily, I also finally got around to taking some outfit pictures for my blog with her. I’ve been dying to do this for ages but the weather has always been really crap, and then my hair gets wrecked and then it just never happens haha. After I nagged Emily enough to do it, we spent some time over at the Royal National Theatre in Southbank taking photos of what I was wearing that day. In a previous post, I talked about wanting a white hoodie. I then went on to purchase a Gildan one through Amazon. If I make this into a mini review, I guess I can say that the quality isn’t 100%, it’s not ultra thick and I mean if I spill anything on it / wash it with something that isn’t white, it’s screwed. BUT, it was £12, and is exactly what it says it is, if you know what I mean. It’s a white hoodie. It’s also entirely unbranded, which is a big thing for me. I like to keep branded things super low key and I wouldn’t want to wear tonnes of things that were labelled up. This hoodie also has the potential to be cropped, and as it was so cheap, I would have no qualms shortening it for the summer. We also took these photos before my train back home, so my Goodhood tote is crammed with all my belongings. This bag is not only beautiful, and perfect for the tote bag lover I am, but it also fits so much in. I had another pair of shoes, my make up bag, hair straighteners, a spare towel and multiple outfits for the weekend all packed inside.
People have also been saying on Instagram that I wear my Nuptse a lot, so I just want to say that this is because, well up until my boyfriend bought me the Helly Hansen pink puffer jacket, it was my main coat. You know when you find an item of clothing that just goes with everything you own and you just feel so comfortable and happy wearing it, well my North Face jacket is exactly that. I think I got it for like, 60 quid on eBay and it was such a steal that I almost cherish it more for that!
Shout out to my best friend, Emily, for the amazing pictures as per <3
Finally booked my train back to Edinburgh today so i’ll have to start getting all my stuff ready for that in the coming days!

After buying my Gildan hoodie I feel like I could buy more. I could buy a black one and maybe now even a red one. This is due to Emily talking about wanting a red hoodie. Her sister recently got the Champion x Supreme hoodie which is this amazing cherry red colour. It’s like one of those scenarios when you see a piece of clothing on someone else and really like it because they look really good in it, but then actually it wouldn’t work on you, if you know what I mean. I feel like that happens a lot with me, especially with colourful clothing. I think my skin has like a blue undertone, so warm reds sort of wash me out, but still I love this Wood Wood piece. It’s kinda similar also to the Bianca Chandon Lover hoodie which my boyfriend has in grey and I loveeee! I just said love, a lot.
I’ve also finally set up a Twitter. I figured it would help me share more with you guys but truly I have no idea how to use it! In my 20s and struggling with technology. Please help a gal out!

I think I just got Carmex in my eye. I was rubbing the sleepy dust out the corner of my eye after applying some lip balm and now i’m 99% sure I have it in my eye as it’s burning, a lot.
Okay anyway, after a few days in London and after a rushed Sunday Summary of my week, I thought I’d put together a longer post. I know i’ve written tonnes of posts about London, but I do always do something different when I’m there. So this weekend was the reopening of Fabric in Farringdon. I bought tickets for my boyfriend and I to go on the Friday night which is when they play Drum and Bass. I haven't seen my boyfriend all Christmas so it was so nice to be back together! He took me to Fabric before over the summer (see the post here about that). I’m probably the least likely person to be found in Fabric, and we didn’t even drink but I had an amazing time. Prior to all of this, I had spent the afternoon in London with Emily at the Starbucks in Covent Garden, eating a triple cheese toastie and drinking a white chocolate mocha. Does it even really taste of white chocolate tho? When my boyfriend got to London we all went for dinner at Patty and Bun on Redchurch Street which was super cool. I had the Portobello Mushroom burger for £8. 100% recommend.
The following day we didn’t leave the flat until maybe 3? I know, so bad and I was absolutely starving. As we were staying with Emily, we were within a half an hour walk of Borough Market so we wandered down there in search of some food. I honestly bought an amazing hot dog but didn’t take any photos of it as I was too busy eating. My boyfriend had a pulled pork sandwich and then some kind of custard bun afterwards, which I actually ended up eating a lot of haha. Tate Modern is open till 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays, so we went to see the new Rauschenberg exhibition (half price deal for students oooh). We couldn't take any photos in there but there was an extensive collection of his work. My boyfriend studies Art History so it’s always useful to have him at galleries because he knows a lot more than I do! He went home after this and I stayed at Emily’s for another night. Again we ended up staying in bed till midday. Term hasn’t started for any of us yet so motivation is seriously lacking across all camps. I managed to get Emily to take some outfit photos for me, I’ve finally done it! I’m just waiting for them to come through on WeTransfer. So that is what the photos from the the National Theatre are for, i’m also considering doing about Brutalist Architecture for my degree show but i’m undecided.
Had such a cute time in London and now I only have a week before i'm back in Edinburgh for my final semester ahhhhh!
