Urban Outfitters currently have 20% off for students (today only I think) so my friend and I grabbed an armful each of clothes to try on. We had previously spent an inordinate amount of time in Starbucks working slowly towards our deadline on Monday. We swiftly decided to whizz in store to see what we could find before we lost the plot.
what I tried on from left to right
Light Before Dark Armhole Cami in pink // Light Before Dark High Neck Tank Top in black
We both tried on the same bodysuit but I was wearing the wrong jeans. You know when you're trying something on in store and the clothes you already own just don't go? That was me. My friend however was wearing a pair of high waisted jeans from Urban Outfitters and the bodysuit looked so good and super flattering. The material was really thick too and could easily be worn without a bra. I opted for trying the two Light Before Dark Camis as they looked cute on the hanger. The pink one was so see-through and I just couldn't pull it off, but I did really like it. Dilemma. The high neck tank top is incredibly similar to something I have from Topshop so I don't even know why I picked that up! We both walked away empty handed even though the 20% off deal was incredibly tempting! Boring, I know.
On a brighter note, my flatmate had a discount code for Dominos so we ended up having pizza for dinner which was much needed for all of us.

The libraries are at bursting point as exam season has descended upon Edinburgh. My flatmate attempted to get a desk at the library at 8am on Saturday and it was full. Everyone in my flat has opted to stay home, set up camp at the kitchen table and study till the early hours of the morning instead. I've been back a few days now, and as I have no exams it's easy to assume my path is a lot less stressful. Wrong. My deadline is in less than a week and to say that i'm not feeling the strain is just... believe me, i'm feeling the strain. The studio is closed off now as they prepare for the degree show so i've set up a mini studio in my room.
The biggest treat this week was when my flatmate and I went to Project Coffee in Bruntsfield for lunch today. We sat outside (don't ask why) and managed to stuff our faces before it started to snow. I would highly recommend a visit - such great food, but perhaps check the weather before opting to sit outside!
Before I go to bed I have been loving watching Outlander, which is available on Amazon Prime. It's so addictive. I also started watching The Durrels on itv with my family before I came back to Edinburgh and it's super good too! I've been meaning to catch up with that.
Best of luck if any of you have exams / deadlines coming up!

Okay, so as I previously said, i'm going to do a quick run through of what I could fit in my new Eastpak backpack on my train journey up from London. I've spent the past two years flying from Edinburgh into Heathrow so I was excited to take the train as a bit of a change.
1. Train Tickets - I actually had a lot of train tickets and ended up putting the wrong one through the ticket gate at peak rush hour time and it was just. so. bad. 2. Face Wipes - Travelling makes my skin feel a bit icky sometimes so I always carry these to keep my face and hands clean. 3. Urbanear Headphones - I don't know why, but these feel 10 times better when i'm travelling. When I wear them and i'm flying it's just like a match made in heaven. 4. Sunglasses - The link for these is here and were a birthday present. I adore them so much and sadly sat on my last pair (I also have a cleaning kit that I got with my glasses too). 5. iPhone Charger - for obvious reasons 6. iPhone - for obvious reasons 7. Purse - I can't actually seem to EVER close my purse. I have loyalty card for literally every shop I go in. If I go into a different branch in a different city I forget I have one so I end up getting more. 8. Make up - I got up at 6:30am to get my train so by the time I reached the outskirts of Edinburgh I was looking a little worse for wear. I can't go anywhere without Carmex. 9. Macbook - I actually keep my laptop in a Herschel Sleeve when I have it in my backpack to keep it from getting knocked. I've had it ever since I got my laptop and it's saved me so many times. 10. Vogue May Issue - I had enough time to read this cover to cover. I always feel the need to have a Vogue with me when I travel.
I also had a packed lunch in my bag, a bottle of water, and my Canon camera (which I used to take this picture). I was surprised at how spacious my bag was even once it was filled with all my stuff. The straps weren't cutting into my shoulders at all. I had a small luggage bag with me too. It's so nice to be back at university and I was very tired when I got home yesterday. I went to get a burrito with my boyfriend and return an overdue library book - just the usual.
Hope the weather is nice where you are!

So if you follow me on instagram (@lawhron) you'll know that i recently bought an Eastpak Padded Pak'r Backpack in black. I'm a big rucksack fan so i'm not sure why it took me so long to purchase this. A few of my friends have this and it came highly recommended. I think after having to put all my belongings in a plastic bag inside my other backpacks to keep them waterproof, it was probably time to get something watertight.
I'm over the moon with this and it's completely perfect. Not only is it all black (going with my entire wardrobe) but it feels so durable and, AND it's waterproof. The reviews on amazon were also very encouraging and I think this backpack will save me so much worry.
I got mine from Amazon here where they have a great range of colours.
The Eastpak website has a great selection of their different bags which you can view here
I currently haven't used it for anything because, well, i haven't been anywhere. I'm about to head back up north though and that'll be a perfect time to show you guys what I can fit into it. I also, so far, only have a kinder egg surprise toy in my bag (I really miss the days when you could actually build the toy and it came with stickers) and my flat keys. I highly recommend getting a lanyard for your front door keys because it's literally saved my bacon so so many times.
Keep an eye out for posts on what i'm taking back up to Edinburgh with me!

I've kinda (unintentionally) not really been as active on here as I would've liked. My final deadline is in two weeks and everyone is working super hard to get stuff ready in time. I've also landed myself on that weird side of Spotify, where I find myself listening to suggested sleep playlists at 3am because i'm so stressed about the 14 things I didn't do in the day that I meant to.
I'm actually in my penultimate year at university, so September will be my last re-freshers/freshers week. That means i'm in that limbo summer where I feel an intense need to make everything amazing. Next year everyone will be getting jobs and moving away and starting their new lives, which is actually quite terrifying.
For anyone approaching the end of higher education, heres a slice of advice for you:
1. The clothes you buy in freshers thinking you'll wear on a night out, you won't. They'll just sit at the back of the drawer and collect dust. (This is just speaking from personal experience, if you do find something great in freshers then totally wear it)
2. Go on nights out that you want to go on. No one likes a rubbish night out, if you're stomaching that Sainsbury's house £4 wine you might as well have a good time.
3. There is also no shame in sitting in on a Friday night with a packet of biscuits and watching like, 14 of your favourite episodes on Netflix. I know my entire flat have slipped into this routine and no one is judging anyone.
4. Dominos is always a good idea. Two for Tuesdays just seals the deal.
5. Living with people teaches you a lot about yourself - pick a good bunch (I know I did). It is what you make it. You also learn how much grossness you can tolerate, which i've found out is surprisingly a lot.
6. Gravy chips are also a great idea at 3am, and so are curry chips, so is really any food. I've cooked eggs at 3am and remember them tasting amazing.
Everyone finds their feet after a while, 3 years is a large part of your life when you're growing up. Moving away from home is a big deal and it's very, very hard. It is, however, one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Good luck and give it everything you've got!

I have short dungarees in like a blue denim wash lying around somewhere but I highly doubt that they still fit me... Following on from some posts I made about summer clothes etc, I wanted to discuss short dungarees. I've just scrubbed all the dead skin off my lips and they feel amazingg.
So from left to right
When it comes around to summer i've always been such a shorts kinda girl instead of skirts, but I can never find tops to go with them. I'm like do I want a baggy shirt tucked in today, or do I want to wear a crop top?? I feel like it's a perpetual struggle which wearing short dungarees eliminates. Beforehand with my other pair I remember being able to wear big tops underneath and tiny tops from American Apparel. I think these will be a super versatile piece for summer and will work so well with literally any style of top. Literally. For those of you who are like me and are still stuck in a spring/winter weather mix where it's hot one day and raining the next, heres a small outfit I put together:
Raincoat // Zara
Bodysuit // American Apparel
Short Dungarees // Topshop
Backpack // Grafea
Socks // Nike

Or packing for two weeks away. I hope i'm not the only person who does this but I always over pack. When I fly home i'll have a 20kg suitcase filled to the brim with clothes that I'll never wear. I think this is because I assume i'll wear everything, what if it's sunny? what if it rains? what if i go for a walk in the fields and need my wellies?
I got the train home this time so I packed in terms of what I wanted to drag to the station at 8am. This probably helped me a lot. I had a backpack full of snacks too (polos and a banana, exciting).
In terms of what I packed (besides essentials like laptop and chargers etc) this is the list of clothes I brought:
1 Hoodie / 1 Sweater / 2 Pairs of Jeans / 5 Short Sleeve Tops / 1 Long Sleeve Top
1 Bomber Jacket / 1 Winter Coat / 2 Pairs of Shoes
(And pyjamas, underwear and socks to last you roughly two weeks)
My wardrobe is incredibly minimal which made deciding what to bring quite easy. Also, like i've said before, I'll wear my pyjamas for a good couple of days straight. That way I won't worry about repeating the same outfit too many times.
My suitcase (pictured above) is the dimensions of one you can take in the hold on a plane. This makes it flexible for how i travel back to uni, if i go stay with friends and stuff like that. I also had a small amount of spare room incase i do any shopping and take extra back with me (which is likely, lets be real)
Keep up to date with all my travelling on my instagram @lawhron

Ok, I want to talk about pyjamas. I know I posted about loungewear recently but this is a different matter. I'm so adapted to the cold weather at night that when it comes around to summer all I have is sweaters four times my size and leggings. My friend and I were talking the other day about how we need summer pyjamas so i've looked around at my favourite shops to talk about these four.

(pair this with any simple vest top)
I literally can't get enough of beige at the moment and I adore the set from ASOS, matching perfectly with flip flops, oversized sunglasses and an ice cream in hand.

As this was my last proper week of university before summer, I thought I'd do a quick run through of what i've been up to. I'm heading back home tomorrow morning and I realllllllllly should be packing, but unfortunately I am sat in bed. I hate saying goodbye to everyone for the holidays so i'm putting it off and hiding in my room.
I got my nails taken off this week which was sad. However I did catch my nail just as I was heading to the salon. It kinda felt like the entire end of my finger was on fire. Not good.
I got the NYX lip lingerie lipstick from boots the other day (link here) in the shade push up. I already have the NYX soft matte lip cream in London which I lovveeeeeeeee so I wanted to get something else from them too. To begin with I went a bit overboard with applying it and I looked a bit strange. I've found the best way to use it is to just apply it to only the top lip and then rub your lips together. Much more subtle.
Friday night was met with the intense desire to not cook a single thing. I had the choice of eating a half open packet of tortellini or trying to order something from deliveroo. Obviously choosing the latter. I went with a veggie burger, a vanilla milkshake and cheesy chips. It was sooooo good. I couldn't finish the chips in the end so I ate them today.
Ok, I seriously need to pack now. A post on what to take home for university holidays will be up soon (I always overpack)
