I’ve decided it’s time to invest in some white trainers. Given the weather at the moment (horizontal rain and 300 mph winds) i’m not really sure why i've chosen to make this investment now. I’ve always owned black shoes, only occasionally venturing into buying white trainers in a giddy moment in a shoe store. I know transitioning into wearing white trainers instead of black isn't technically a big leap, but it is for me, seriously.
So, as for my round up of shoes. I’ve been influenced by the influx of Stan Smiths i’ve seen around campus in the past 6 months. The staple look involving white trainers, ripped-knee jeans, boyfriend fit sweater, Canada Goose and an Eastpak bag over one shoulder. Maybe it’s me crumbling to my university’s trend but I have to admit it looks effortlessly casual. However I haven't been swayed into buying any Stan Smiths…

1. Adidas Originals Superstar Foundation White Trainers - £65 - A really good friend of mine at university has the Adidas Originals Superstar White & Black Rise Trainers. They go really well with black skinny jeans and a big jumper, giving the look an easy feel. Something about these trainers just screams comfort.
2. Nike Wolf Grey Air Max 90 Essential Trainers - £95 - I would maybe prefer these in all white, but as most of my wardrobe is grey and black these would look super cute with black jeans and a white tee.
3. Nike Air Force 1 '07 White Trainers - £70 - I have these in all black and wear them to death. They are so comfy and make my legs look really long (i’m not really sure why they make my legs look so long). They also look great with stripy socks and a big jumper. I could definitely dress these well if I had them in white.
4. Vans SK8 Hi True White High Top Trainers - £52 - I have always, always worn vans. I currently have the Vans Old Skool Low-Top trainers in black and adore them. The all white style of these could easily freshen up any of my all monochrome outfits and I know they’ll be super comfy.
So in my conclusion, I would buy all these trainers. Great outcome and it would seem all these trainers go with a big jumper too.

reminiscing about Five Guys |
Just remembered it’s Thursday today.
It’s also my university’s reading week, resulting in the entire student body returning to their homes. I have retuned home too, which explains my absence from here. It was a bit weird, everyone sort of suddenly disappeared and I was amazed at how empty the city became.
I only packed a small bag of clothes but that hasn’t really mattered because i’ve just been in my pyjamas the entire time. In my own defence, maybe I was completely exhausted. My Mum keeps telling me i’m recharging batteries which is the perfect explanation. I haven’t done much reading, but I take comfort in the knowledge that no one else has either. My flatmates keep sending pictures of their dogs, and the seaside and face masks and baths with candles - so I’m safe to assume that no one is doing anything either.
I do have an essay to draft, or at least attempt to start. I just wanted to say that I’m still here. I’m just procrastinating about my next move.

Post the launch of Yeezy Season 3, i’ve been on the hunt for some items that are similar but at a fraction of the cost. I’m used to living in oversized clothing so i’ve been relishing in the influx of larger tops and jackets at the moment.
I was wandering around my local Zara the other week when I spotted an oversized sweatshirt in a dusty pink colour. Though more fitting to the muted nude tones of Season one and Season two, it was perfect. However, I didn’t buy it and i’m not really sure why. On my third Starbucks of the week, I looked at it and assumed it wouldn’t hang well and would look quite boxy. It wasn’t until I reassessed the top at a later point on the Zara website that I realised it was the oversized top I was looking for. I had obviously made a mistake.

The shirt also comes in Grey Marl and Black (which I will probably buy too for no real reason)
I don't really tend to get buyers remorse when it comes to clothes. I can buy something on impulse and never look at it again. I’ve got the same top I bought in freshers last year from H & M lying at the back of my chest of drawers in my uni flat. Lovingly flown from halls, to my home 300 miles away and then back again for the start of third year and never worn.
Anyway, I hope you all had a lovely Valentines Day, I definitely did! I think i'm going to go treat myself to this top, it's only £9.99!

I’ve recently started a project on love and marriage to challenge my own understanding on why i’m such a hopeless romantic. With many of my peers taking years abroad and already considering career paths, why am I so hell bent on falling in love, buying a flat, getting a dog and living happily ever after?
Telling someone I loved them for the first time was possibly one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I think all along I knew it, but it’s one of those things you have to say out loud. “Look, I’ve said I love you, now it’s floating around… out there in the sky.”
Do you try and wait for the right moment to tell someone you love them?
When I think of what love is to me, the best way to put it is: say your life is a bunch of spinning porcelain plates and each plate is something different, like a different issue, the feeling of love is basically giving someone some of your spinning plates and you take some of theirs, but it’s all okay and all the plates keep spinning and none of them break.
Obviously love can be a trillion different things. The measures of love can change, such as how we love family, friends, our pets and… inanimate objects I guess? Nonetheless I believe that telling someone you love them for the first time is incredibly hard.
Just a thought.

Seeing as i’m spending my Sunday staring out the window in frustration at the weather, I thought i’d put together a little collection of beige things i’d like to own. It really is very windy today. My cup of tea is beige, my rice krispies are beige, the worktops in the kitchen are beige, the walls are beige, my life is beige.
However, despite my complaining, i’ve actually recently developed a liking for beige clothes as a change up from my regular black, grey and white (this is most likely subconsciously influenced by Yeezy Season 2, let’s be honest). Not really a full beige outfit, more like a hint of beige, so a cream jumper for instance, or a shade along the lines of beige for a pair of trainers. I would maybe even wear beige leggings if I found the absolute right ones.
I’ve said beige a lot so you get the gist.
1. SCRT T-Shirt - This has stemmed from my flatmate wearing A LOT of scrt stuff. He's sat across from me now wearing his beloved shirt. Their jumpers are fab quality, and they have a really nice colour palette.
2. Asics Gel-Lyte III 'Christmas Pack Snowman' - I've been lusting after these for a while, i'd switch out the laces for a white pair but these trainers really are lovely. They're sold out most places (apart from eBay obviously).
3. Zara Raincoat - This is just a nod to the weather today, the hood is for essential rain protection but i'm not sure that will prevent you from being blown away.
So, Sunday. I'm going to go and attempt to work as I have 3 deadlines this week. Fun fun fun.
